About me
Hello, my name is Li Yiru and you can call
me crystal. I come from Jinhua, a small city in the middle of Zhejiang Province,
China.
As for my personality, I would say I’m an
outgoing and conversable person who really enjoys doing sports, especially the
table tennis and swimming. Being an English teacher is one of my biggest dreams
because I’m really excited and fulfilled to learn with my students together, as
it’s a mutual learning process.
Welcome to my cozy space on the internet, where I share my thoughts and life's most beautiful moments!

Located in the Yangtze River Delta, it serves as a transportation hub connecting major cities like Hangzhou and Shanghai. Jinhua is famous for its stunning landscapes, including mountains and rivers, as well as its traditional crafts and local delicacies, such as Jinhua ham. The city blends modern development with deep-rooted cultural traditions, making it a charming destination for history and nature lovers alike.
Shuanglong Cave, located in Jinhua, is a breathtaking karst cave known for its stunning rock formations and underground river.
The name "Shuanglong" (meaning "Double Dragon") comes from the two dragon-like stalactites at the cave entrance. Visitors can explore its mysterious depths by boat, gliding through narrow passages surrounded by shimmering limestone formations.

🌍 My hobbies
Hiking has become one of my greatest passions, especially since moving to the UK. I’ve explored the breathtaking landscapes of the Lake District, conquered Ben Nevis—the highest peak in the UK—and enjoyed the scenic Red Kite trail near Newcastle. Hiking not only allows me to connect with nature but also brings incredible physical and mental benefits. It helps improve fitness, reduces stress, and provides a sense of accomplishment with every trail completed. There’s nothing quite like the fresh air, stunning views, and the peaceful rhythm of walking through nature.
🌍 My Academic Journey
I completed my undergraduate studies at Xiamen University Tan Kah Kee College in China, where I majored in English. I have deep love and appreciation for my alma mater, as it not only provided me with excellent teachers who inspired me but also lifelong friends who supported me. My dream has always been to become an English teacher and explore a broader world, which led me to pursue a master's degree in Education in the UK.
Now, at Newcastle University, I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to turn my aspirations into reality. My favorite quote is: "The true meaning of education is to let every child shine in their own way." This belief drives my passion for education and motivates me to create a learning environment where every student can thrive. Studying abroad has been a transformative experience, broadening my horizons and reinforcing my dedication to making a difference in the field of education.
